Human Rights Act Safe for this Parliament

The Daily Telegraph has reported that the Government does not intend to repeal the Human Rights Act (HRA) and introduce a British Bill of Rights in its place during this Parliament which is excellent news.

It is important to remember that the Council of Europe which oversees the European Convention on Human Rights ( must of which is incorporated directly into UK law by the HRA) is entirely separate from the European Union and the European Court of Justice (e.g. Russia is a member of the Council of Europe!!).
