Aster Communities -v- Akerman Livingstone

Aster Communities Ltd -v- Akerman-Livingstone [2014] EWCA Civ 1081, 30 July 2014

In this case, the Court of Appeal has come up with an extremely negative decision in quashing an Equality Act defence raised by a tenant.

We can’t really improve on the assessment of the case on the Housing Law website Nearly Legal which you can find at: http://nearlylegal.co.uk/blog/2014/08/arguably-serious-aster-communities-ltd-v-akerman-livingstone/

We are pleased to see that the Supreme Court has given permission to appeal – granted the very next day after the judgment!
